1.0. Purpose

The purpose of this method statement is to explain the methodology and installation procedure for cable conduits.

3. Pre-Preparation Work

3.1. Ensure that site access and location are clear and free of debris and obstruction.
3.2. Marked out all relevant positions or locations on the working drawings for the installation to proceed.

4. Safety Precautions

4.1. Barricade all work areas relating to the works if required.
4.2. Wear Proper Protection Equipment (PPE) for personal safety.
4.3. Proper ladder should be secured by tight rope/wire, proper roller clamp on suitable hook.
4.4. All electrical tools and equipment shall be properly on earth.
4.5. Proper scaffolding is to be provided while working at the heights.

5. Work Procedures

5.1. Refer to the working drawings and mark out the position of the conduit saddle on the Working drawings.
5.2. Marked out the relevant positions to install the conduit saddle at the walls and ceilings.
5.3. Cut the conduit to the required length. Use the conduit reamer or a half-round file to smooth out the sharp edges at both ends of the conduit.
5.4. Confirm the actual location of the conduit. Boreholes of the necessary diameter into the walls and ceilings.
5.5. Ensure all conduit saddles are provided one meter apart.
5.6. Install the conduit box by turning the conduit box into the threaded conduit. Use monkey pliers to tighten the conduit box securely. Insert the raw plugs into the drilled holes of walls and ceilings.
5.7. Secure the G.I. conduit by saddle and screw nuts.
5.8. Touch up the edges, bending, and scratching areas of conduit ends to touch up with 2nd layer of final coat paint.
