Control Measures

  1. All contractors involved must liaise and schedule works coordinated, whilst briefing all concerned through inductions and toolbox talks.
  2. Competent persons such as a plumber or electrician should make a safe work area before installing ducting.
  3. Lock out or permit work orders to be issued where necessary and supervised to ensure compliance.
  4. Suitable fire extinguisher to be present during work.
  5. Isolate power and other energy sources where it is safe to do and without causing interference to necessary services.
  6. Suitable first aid box to be present on site and all products must be in date.
  7. Fire blanket to be used where cutting may expose itself to combustible materials.
  8. Electrical panel doors are to be secure at the end of the working day. A suitable fire extinguisher must be at hand for people working on electrical panels, preferably CO2.
